**Every package provides our students one exam attempt. In addition, all enrollees must take the exam within six months of purchase; retakes must be purchased separately with a maximum retake allowance of three attempts. There are no prerequisites to take the exam. The NCCPT recommends that you adequately prepare before attempting your exam the first time. We will even provide you with a list of open resources you can utilize to prepare. The course must be completed within twelve months of purchase date.
NCCPT currently offers two Personal Training programs. One program results in a certification as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). The second program provides the successful test taker with a Certificate of Personal Training. Choose the convenience of an online certificate exam, or go for the full certification at a PSI Testing Center and earn the title of Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). It’s not which package you choose but which exam you take that allows you to use the CPT credential. The exam for the Certificate of Personal Training is a different test, with no item-overlap to the CPT exam. Click here to learn the difference. To prepare for the Certified Personal Trainer Exam, a candidate generally needs to invest about 80-100 hours of study. Generally, candidates spread this out over a few months, depending on their background, experience, and available time.
