Recertification/Renewal Requirements

The National Council for Certified Personal Trainers requires Fitness Professionals to renew their certifications in order to keep up with the industry standards by completing CEU's, or Continuing Education Units. To renew your NCCA Accredited Certification and/or Specialty Certificate in order to continue with your fitness career, you must meet the following personal trainer requirements within your certification's active dates:

CEUs. Choose from a variety of inspiring programs to enhance your knowledge and motivate your clients! CEUs that are not pre-approved by NCCPT may be petitioned by submitting the Petition Form.

Weight Management Specialist 1.0
Youth Fitness Specialist 1.0
Powerlifting Instructor 2.0
Kickboxing Instructor 1.0

CPR. Proof of completion of a CPR Trainer Certification course must be submitted.

Renewal Form. When everything is completed, download the form, fill it out and send it to NCCPT, then move forward with your personal fitness career!

Pay your renewal fee on or before your expiration date. Our current renewal fee is $75 if paid on time, $100 if paid after your expiration date.

Recertification Fees

Your Certificate must be renewed every two years.

The fee to renew on or before your expiration date is $75. After your expiration date, you have a 30 day grace period during which you can still renew, however, the late renewal fee is $100. Paying the renewal fee does not automatically renew your certification/certificate. You must also provide Continuing Education Units as well as proof an updated CPR card.
