The aim of this article is to analyze the research on wide versus narrow stance squat technique specifically in regards to the four primary body segments affected in the squat (ankle, knee, hip and trunk) and the muscles facilitating movement.
John Platero has competed internationally as a cyclist to win over 40 medals in cycling, including two national championships, three gold medals at the Master’s Pan American games and 10 Gold Medals at the Huntsman World Senior Games. He also won a silver and a bronze medal at the Master’s Worlds in Torino, Italy. He has a B.A. in Sports Recreational Management and a dual MSS in Sports Medicine and Health and Fitness with an emphasis in personal training. He has published over 50 articles and been featured on ABC and the LA Times.
